FAQ.

This is just a short set of questions I get asked a lot, to hopefully cut down on repeat asks and such! If you want more information on any of these, feel free to send in an ask though!

THE ESSENTIALS.

Do you take requests or commissions?
- I take requests yes, which you can send in via the ask box, but there's no guarantee they'll be done. I don't offer commissions at the moment, but see the following question to see if your intentions seem to fit that instead.
Can I use your edits for things (personally, commercially, for my own art, etc.)? How about your music (as background music for things, etc.)?
- Not without permission, and I don't give out permission willy-nilly. Please see the contact page on this Carrd if you want to license the use of an image for your own purposes, or want to commission something for explicitly commercial ventures. My music is strictly unavailable for use for any reason.
I want to make Weirdcore, how do I make it?
- This question is super common and has an infinite possible number of answers, but I've gathered a little selection of my varied answers from over the years and have curated them here for your view on my Tumblr. Please note that obviously my ideas are not the be-all end-all of Weirdcore creation, and to just have fun creating what speaks to you! If you want to ask something more in depth, you can send it in via the askbox, or seek the Weirdcord Discord server for additional help from other people in the community!
How do you make a blog like yours?
- Just make stuff, tag it, and post it consistently is about all I have for you. I really haven't done anything deliberate otherwise, so pardon the rather short answer. I will say, edits tend to perform better when dropped individually rather than batch dropped, probably because the spam means they get lost in the shuffle. I've seen a lot of blogs suffer from this, so consider just setting them to post once daily using the queue function!
How'd you start making Weirdcore/what made you become an editor?
- See my about page on this Carrd or this curated set of asks from my Tumblr for a more thorough explanation.
Where do you get your base images, captions, assets, etc.?
- I take every image used on the blog unless stated otherwise in the tags, I write all my captions unless stated otherwise. Assets are a mix of handmade and from things like GifCities and the occasional old Tumblr gif I liked. I don't tend to use outside resources in modern edits, though.
What programs and equipment do you use to make your edits?
- I use Paint.NET and MS Paint personally, but I know there are a ton of potential image editors out there on every platform. I don't know about the others, so check with other blogs in the community if you want more specifics!

WEIRDCORE, ETC.

How do you get inspired for your edits, write your captions, etc.?
- It's a big varied mix of different methods and techniques. Sometimes I see a base image and begin editing from there, other times I write a caption in my notes and come back to it months later with the context removed for added weirdness, and yet still sometimes I do neither of those and end up editing for any number of reasons. Just let yourself create when the spark hits you and speak from the heart, or be silly and say whatever you want. I don't know, just have fun with it.
Which edit(s) are your favorite?
- This is an extremely hard question to answer, so I'll just link this ask and this ask from the blog's recent history, as they go over a good selection of what I consider to be my best work. I wouldn't even begin to know how to organize a list of others' edits, so pardon me for not having one!
What elements/styles/etc. do you like in edits?
- Really all of them, but I'm a huge fan of Webcore and fake user interfaces in particular. I think they often add a layer of immersion that hits really deep, and they're probably my weak point editing-wise, so I love seeing others make stunning pieces featuring them!
Do you have any recommendations for other Weirdcore blogs like yours?
- Just going to link this big post of mine from a little bit ago where I just linked every major blog that I'm into right now. I don't want to really attempt to keep an updated list, so pardon if any of them deactivate. As for other blogs with my particular feel, besides those listed above I'd probably say Pirate Flavor is the next closest, so go check them out!!
Why'd you stop using the "Traumacore" or "Vent art" tags?
- "Vent art" is because Tumblr decided that meant I really wanted to see vent art in my recommendations and I did NOT want to do that! I use "UO Vent" now instead. "Traumacore" is mostly just because I don't really feel comfortable with the implication of aestheticizing trauma.
How do you feel about people mass interacting with your blog, tagging your posts with certain things, etc.?
- Go for it! The only times I've ever been upset at people in my notes are if they're bigoted/using my posts to spread bigoted beliefs, or people explicitly sharing their traumas in graphic detail there, because I read my tags and that stuff is not great to read!

MUSIC, ETC.

Where's your music available? Is it on streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, etc.? Will you upload them somewhere such as SoundCloud, YouTube, etc.?
My full discography is available exclusively on my Bandcamp for now. I want to put some albums on streaming at some point, but it costs money so not right now. I have no plans to upload my full works on SoundCloud or YouTube at this time, and I would prefer they stay off those platforms at this time.
What software/tools do you use to make your music?
FL Studio and literally nothing else! I create all my synths myself using the GMS plugin.

OTHER.

What's your favorite color?
- I traditionally answer yellow for this because it's technically correct, but I also equally love blue, black, and white! Sorry for being indecisive!
What's your favorite animal?
- I really like (to the shock of no one) orcas, ferrets, and just like... all birds as a general group, but in particular blue jays.
Do you have any pets?
- I have one cat (he's named Coffi) and one rabbit (she's named Sugar), who both feature on the blog sometimes! Their names might be corny, but they sure are cute!
Why do you send asks as an anon?
- Unorcadox is a sideblog, and I don't like revealing my main blog much. If you figure out which blog I am via likes or follows, I ask that you keep my main blog relatively unknown! Thank you in advance!

Thank you for reading all the way through! I recommend also looking at the FAQ, just in case you want to know anything else about me or my art!
